CHANTIX

PILL INSTEAD OF WILL

Taking a drug to lessen the impact of another. Take Chantix to lessen dependence on nicotine.  This is an often tried idea.  A hangover has many remedies in the popular culture that involve a secondary drug to alleviate the symptoms of too much alcohol in the system.

Thirteen million people have been prescribed this drug.   Thirteen million people, each with a unique physiology, and thirteen million unique people all with different genetics, and different consciousness.

The study indicates that one out of every 28 people who take this drug will have an "extra cardiac event". Perhaps they mean heart attack.

Far more interesting is this fact: the success rate for quitting smoking is three in thirty. That means that for every three that quit, one has a "extra cardiac event".

So, side effect cardiac events will occur for approximately 464,000 people. Nearly a half a million people with cardiac problems. It probably was safer to keep smoking and only 46,400 of this group were even able to quit smoking.  That is only one in ten.  A very poor success rate.
